The human hand has been used as an irreplaceable model for the development of different robotic hands, because of its impressive complexity and versatility in handling objects and positional adjustments according to the execution of functional patterns. Anthropomorphic hands have been widely investigated for their inherent similarity to the human hand and potentially can bring a variety of benefits to the fields of prosthetic hand, humanoid robots, medical robots and space exploration.
This degree work is framed in the research protocol prosthetic design, to design and implement an anthropomorphic finger that has three degrees of freedom. The design integrates anatomical considerations, which are emulated with alternative materials that meet the biological characteristics of the hand. Modeled so it can be inspired by the natural anatomy of the hand, in order to perform the different hand grips.
From this, it was possible to design a virtual hand that emulates the taxonomy grips of an anthropomorphic finger and the three degrees of freedom. The relevant calculations of direct kinematics, inverse and dynamics in order to know the range of action and points of the end effector and obtain a control for the anthropomorphic finger.
The design of using alternative materials for the anthropomorphic finger hopes to create a new vision in building new models and frame a new panorama in future research. For the development of this work virtual simulation tools were used to test the anthropomorphic approach of a human finger about the range of movements.
