The following work is a study of the COMPARTATIVE ANALYSIS OF VIZIR AND PCI EVALUATION METHODOLOGIES, APPLIED TO THE PAVEMENT STRUCTURE OF AN URBAN ROAD, IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD CHICÓ NORTE (CHAPINERO LOCATION), whose general objective is to carry out an evaluation and comparison of the application of the VIZIR and PCI methodology, on the stretch of flexible pavement road analyzed, in Chico Norte neighborhood (Chapinero locality). The work was developed in order to evaluate the section of track analyzed by the PCI method, evaluate the track section analyzed by the VIZIR method, generate a characterization of conditions and damages in the pavement of the track sections analyzed and catalog the types of existing damages in the section of analyzed route according to the VIZIR and PCI classification systems. This investigation was possible thanks to the joint work of Engineer Daniel Alberto Silva Castillo and Engineer Daniel Ricardo Garcia Salazar, who contributed to the development of this document by performing visual inspection of the section, analysis of VIZIR and PCI methods, transit analysis and laboratory analysis of asphalt samples individually to compare and finally compile them in this document. Without the joint work, it would not have been possible to carry out this research and reach the results obtained that conclude that: At the time of comparing the results obtained through the two methodologies and making an analysis to the same stretch of road, it was obtained as The result is a difference in quality and condition of the roads of a considerable size for some of them, which indicates inconsistencies in the evaluation criteria between both methodologies, therefore, when choosing an alternative intervention, it is possible that they can present large differences, due to the method chosen for the analysis and evaluation of the pavement, For the case given by the use of the VIZIR methodology, this, when considering the majority of damages in units of length, implies that it is an indicator of deterioration of each of the damages of low objectivity, since, when using this methodology , a damage located in a narrow section of the road is assessed with equal magnitude, to a damage in the whole of its width, with the possibility of generating and establishing very high damage indicators in the structure due to some localized damages and one of the The most important differences established between the methodologies used in this document, is that the PCI method takes into account all the deteriorations that the pavement presents for the calculation of its condition, generating an indicator in which all the deteriorations present in the structure are valued. , different from what the VIZIR method generates, because it only assesses the deteriorations that are structural, which is a factor that can become very important This is because a road with a large amount of damage that is not of a structural nature can also require an intervention of an urgent nature, since these can quickly deteriorate the pavement, even to the point of compromising capacity. structural thereof. Parts A and B of this work are presented in a single document that compiles the results found by the authors.
