Over the years Breastfeeding has been exacerbated by different societies at national and
international level, this problematic caused in the nineties normative instruments were created
to protect, promote and support this practice from the International Law of Human Rights.
However, the current overlook of Breastfeeding reflects there are scenarios that limit the
applicability of this regulation. The methodology used in this topic is a qualitative approach
with inductive process, reviewing the collections established at the international level for
breastfeeding, as authors with expertise in the subject as well, later investigated through
surveys in Colombian society, the results of this, confirm one of the scenarios found in the
investigation. Since its creation, the normative instruments for Breastfeeding have made
visible the importance that lies in mothers, boys and girls as its transversality in society in
general as well, however, today there is evidence of a maximum setback on the part of the
States towards current regulations, leading to the practice of this human right to new
scenarios such as the lack of mandatory, low applicability and ignorance of its citizens.
