Bitcoin is an electronic cash generator system whose aim is to transfer money amongst people with no intermediation. The main feature of this “currency” is that it has no owner, keeping the investor’s identity in anonymity. Thus, the only way to track down these kind of transactions is through a technological tool called “blockchain”. This fact brings about several risks of fraud as: Capital flight, money laundry and tax evasion. No one controls this electronic currency and it is no formally constituted as a payment method or an investment means, therefore, it is not officially considered as a currency or a foreign exchange. The methodology carried out in this project is descriptive-reflexive which might help the reader to understand how this open-ended cryptographic protocol is structured and to comprehend a new way to see money.
