The WMS (Warehouse Management System) systems have become a support for storage operations of a wide variety of organizations. These have had great importance in the control of the most important processes of the companies, which has allowed a continuous improvement. A review of the existing literature on the relationship of these systems is shown according to the different variables involved in the implementation, operation and efficiency of these, especially in 3PL platforms (third-party logistics). In this order of ideas, this study has the purpose of investigating, in more depth, the aspects in which the WMS systems have contributed to the 3PL from a bibliographic review.
It is a review of scientific articles and works that address this issue. To identify and expose the documents in relation to the efficiency of the WMS, an analysis matrix is constructed through which the main characteristics and needs for the implementation of WMS systems are reviewed and identified, and the advantages and advantages of the WMS are identified. Disadvantages of said start-up.
Among the most important results, in terms of efficiency, it is seen as the reduction of the costs of the operational services and the optimization of the times of the processes better decision making by the logistics operators.
