The general objective of this essay is to understand the elements of curricular training to achieve good teachers in Higher Education Institutions. On the other hand, the study process adjusts to the qualitative methodology, by carrying out a search and analysis of documents from the last five years for the antecedents; in the presentation of the problem, review of statistics in teacher employment platforms and also teacher training processes in the teacher regulations of three universities. The result of this research is that the teachers of higher education institutions are being trained in the know-how, but they are not considering the knowledge, know how to be and know how to live together, of the four pillars of education. It is concluded that existing theories support the understanding of the curricular elements of training necessary to achieve good teachers, making clearer the relationship between what is and should be the profile of a professional who wishes to integrate into teaching, fulfilling the essential characteristics and training criteria additional to those of his or her discipline.
