This work presents the validations of global seismic coefficients (Ro,Ω) through the seismic performance evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Frames with Buckling-Restrained Braces (BRBs) regular, low-raised structure, located in a high seismic hazard zone and with a special energy dissipation capacity (DES). The structure is designed based on the Colombian seismic code NSR-10. The research followed appendix-F - “Collapse Evaluation of Individual Buildings” of the FEMA-P-645 “Quantification of Building Seismic Performance Factors” report. The test value for the basic coefficient of energy disipation capacity is Ro=7.0 and the overstrength coefficient is Ω=3.0. Th estructural system was subject to a non-linear static analysis (Pushover) to define the global seismic parameters and the structural ductility. Additionally, Incremental Dynamic Analyses (IDA) were performed using six pairs of nearby source seismic records, scaled to twelve different intensities for a total of 144 analyses. When doing the evaluation of seismic performance with the acceptance criterio of FEMA P-695 it is established that the results: (i)Ω=1.93, (ii) ductility 𝜇𝑇=3.10 and (iii)Ro=7.0, are adequate for the evaluated structural system, given the acceptance criterio al fulfilled, however, they suggest it is possible to use a larger value for the Ro (ej.Ro=8), taking into account the structural system still possess a larger deformation capacity without losing its lateral resistance. With a CMR=1.638 (larger than the unit), the concrete frames with BRB’s have a low collapse probability for the Maximum Considered Earthquake (MCE) with the structure having a larger capacity when compared to the MCE corresponding demand.
