At the national level, various infrastructure projects have been developed, where open pit
roads and underground excavations have been executed, which, according to the needs and
technical specifications of the project, have been built with rigid pavements and flexible
pavements, showing progress significant in economic terms in terms of mobility at the
national level, however, the inputs used for the mix designs and support structures have not
shown great variations with respect to what has naturally been handled at the international
level, a situation that must take into account when looking at the advances in science, those
that focus on continuing with development and innovation worldwide, but, in turn, aim to
reduce the environmental impact generated by construction, both by bad construction
practices, such as the use of materials that are harmful to the environment.
Day after day pollution increases and now the need does not lie only in generating
development, but rather, in guiding development towards the preservation of the
environment, where global warming, a product of the carbon footprint due to greenhouse
gas emissions and The consumption of non-renewable energies, have been representative
facts to conclude that the change is now, which must be developed in all sectors of the
industry, in order to mitigate the negative impact on the environment. In addition to the
above, it is also necessary to take into account the poor final disposal that is given to solid
waste such as plastic of different densities and vehicle tires, those that will be part of the
study for this writing, since many of these , are very useful for a second use in Engineering,
being essential for the stabilization of soils and for the design of pavements, both rigid and
flexible, representing a significant advance due to the reduction that the use of stone
materials would have in the mixtures of hydraulic and asphalt concrete. It is not only about
changing operating habits within the construction industry, but also about reusing those
materials that, when exposed to the environment due to their poor final disposal, produce
high levels of contamination. It is evident that the ideal would be to reduce the manufacture
of materials with a high polluting potential, but in view of the need for these for the
population, the most suitable alternative would be to use them in Engineering, even after
their useful life.
