Resumen
Actualmente, las auditorías se constituyen como un instrumento primordial para que las organizaciones conozcan cómo están funcionando sus procesos y que mediante la mejora continua fundamenten acciones preventivas y correctivas para el fortalecimiento y progreso de estos. Las auditorías a través de los tiempos han aportado a las organizaciones mejora en sus procesos a fin de que optimicen recursos, minimicen riesgos, mantengan competitividad y satisfacción a los clientes. Las auditorías han sido catalogadas como una herramienta, instrumento, sistema, proceso, método etc, pero su capacidad funcional básicamente está diseñada para verificar, examinar, investigar, comprobar, y prevenir mediante evidencias objetivas hallazgos que mejoran o afectan la funcionalidad de los procesos de una organización. El logro de una auditoría obedece a factores que establecen su funcionamiento y límites como su alcance, objetivos, auditores, procesos etc; donde sus resultados objetivos y concretos apoyan la toma de decisiones de la alta dirección y la participación de sus miembros para el beneficio productivo de la organización.
Currently, audits are constituted as a primary instrument so that organizations know how their processes are working and that through continuous improvement they base preventive and corrective actions for the strengthening and progress of these. The audits over time have contributed to organizations improvement in their processes in order to optimize resources, minimize risks, maintain competitiveness and customer satisfaction. The audit has been classified as a tool, instrument, system, process, method, etc, but its functional capacity is basically designed to verify, examine, investigate, review and prevent, through objective evidence, findings that improve or affect the functionality of the processes of an organization. The achievement of an audit is due to factors that establish its operation and limits such as its scope, objectives, auditors, processes etc; where its objective and concrete results support senior management decision-making and the participation of its members for the productive benefit of the organization.
