This paper shows the characteristics of Riparian forest located in the dry tropical forest after implementing a methodology with a field phase and post field phase. In the field phase, seven simple plots were established while in the post field phase floristic composition was determined. The floristic composition is represented by 196 individuals members of 45 species, the mixing coefficient was also calculated and established at 0.23, which represents a low diversity. The Margalef index had a value of 8.34, which is low compared with other studies of dry tropical forest. This indicates a lower species richness, which can be due to the high degree of intervention in the area.
Similarly, in the index of importance value was found that Guazuma ulmifolia Lam. of the Leguminosae family is the most important specie; which is also an indicator of high anthropic intervention, because there are species that are most representative of this forest such as Belencita nemorosa (Jacq.) Dugand or American Morisonia L. among others.
Finally, the density was determinated in 280 individuals per hectare, which is considered low when compared with the ones obtained in other previous study where the density was 568 individuals per hectare, This could also be a result of the high human intervention in these ecosystems not only to harvest the timber resource but also to expand the agricultural border of the land.
