This trial is supported by previous studies where it shows how incorporating information
technology in the work of public institutions for agriculture can not only increase profitability and
productivity of their financial and human resources, but also include new players in technical
assistance, increase the geographic coverage area and offer products and better suited to the
needs of customers. (Echavarria, 2012), similarly, research such as the National Institute of
Agricultural Sciences of Havana, where tools and applications for managing and agricultural
technological innovation, the monitoring system for agricultural pests develop in the Caribbean
that focuses in helping Jamaica, and eventually to other Caribbean nations and in the case of
Colombia Agronet that integrates the various agricultural information systems (Diaz, 2011), show
how information technologies are important tools that help impact agricultural production. It
seeks to establish how training in information technology allows producers to optimize
information from databases, so that there is better information (reliable, accurate and timely) and
that this impact agricultural practices and therefore increase production.
Once the investigation concludes that the training and the use of information technology as a tool
to improve agricultural productivity in Sub Hortifrutícola is not as influential as expected, the
reasons are many, ranging from climate factor to same armed conflict, however, the University
must create curriculum areas and we as future teachers, we must adopt an ethical stance, with a
high sense of social responsibility, where the objective is to continue training and creating learning
spaces to help improve agricultural production subsector.
