Abstract
colombiano decidió iniciar negociaciones de paz con el grupo guerrillero de las FARC-EP;
For approximately sixty years, Colombia has had to live through an internal conflict that has left many victims. This conflict, it has been multidimensional on having appeared clashes with such diverse irregular groups as the EPL, ELN, M-19 and FARC-EP and paramilitary groups. Some of these have been dismantled through of the combat or through of peace agreements.In the internal conflict, the National Army has stopped exercising the defense of the sovereignty and the independence, to taking charge of the extermination of these groups and the control of the public order. Nevertheless, from the year 2012 the Colombian government decided to initiate negotiations of peace with the guerrilla group of the FARC-EP; one of the strongest of the conflict, and due to the success of the above mentioned negotiations it has questioned on the current paper of the Army and the possibility of restating it, since in order the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - Army of the People, they would have to stop to exercise his constitutional mission and to face new threats to the state safety that they might influence the repetition of the conflict.
