The main objective of this work is to analyze the characteristics of transnational crime in the Triple Frontier (Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay) and the actions taken by the states to stop the criminal operation in the last four years. To this end, three specific objectives will be developed: first, to approach the theoretical approaches that study transnational crime and the problematic ones in the borders; second, to establish criminal characteristics of the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay in the last four years; and finally, determine the actions that have been developed by the different governments to counter criminal activities on the triple border (Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay) in the last four years.
This issue is of great importance because of the high rates of corruption, smuggling, drug trafficking, etc. present in the region, factors that are significantly affecting the issue of security, internal stability, development, etc. of the countries at local and regional level, and the specific characteristics of the triple frontier in the sense of individual or joint state actions that can be developed.
