Abstract
El presente artículo trata de la problemática que sufre la especie Brosimum rubescens, la cual está siendo explotada sin ningún control llevando a la especie a estar en peligro, los temas tratados a continuación son la fenología de la especie, los usos que se le dan y los factores que la amenazan lo cual se realiza a través de una revisión bibliográfica en bases de datos, y finalmente se crea una estrategia para su protección, reforestación y extracción de una manera sostenible que pueda garantizar la supervivencia de la especie en el tiempo. Losprincipales usos que se le dan a la especie son la talla de artesanías con su madera y el uso para acabados en construcciones; la coordinación interinstitucional y la ayuda de la comunidad son elementos clave para la supervivencia de la especie.
The aim of this report is to deal with the problems suffered by the species Brosimum rubescens, which is being exploited without any control, endangering it. The subjects discussed below include the phenology of the species, its uses, and the factors that put it in danger, which is done through reviewing bibliographic databases. Finally, a strategy is created for its protection, reforestation and extraction in a sustainable manner that can guarantee the survival of the species over time. The main uses that are given to the species are the carving of handicrafts with their wood and the use for finishing in constructions; Inter-institutional coordination and community support are key elements for the survival of the species.
