| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The oil industry has become an environmental concern, to the point that it is necessary to look for new alternatives and technologies to prevent pollution and minimize the environmental impact derived from this activity. One of the sources of contamination corresponds to drilling fluids and cuts associated with this activity, which leads to discharge or effluents with high concentrations of pollutants to water and soil. Studies have established that the chemical composition of drilling wastes usually contains considerable amounts of a wide range of toxic contaminants, such as aluminum, antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, magnesium, mercury, nickel, zinc, benzene , naphthalene, phenanthrene and other hydrocarbons, as well as toxic levels of sodium and chlorides
This article proposes an investigation about drilling fluid treatment technologies in terms of their applicability in the oil industry. During the development of the same, a description of the objectives of the study will be made, afterwards, the reader is put in context making a characteristic description of the wastewater in the oil industry and the physical and chemical conditions of the drilling fluids. In addition, the advanced treatment technologies are described, where the basis of each method and its associated environmental impacts are described.
A description is made of case studies of the oil industry in Colombia and how it has been the adoption of treatment alternatives for the handling and disposal of drilling fluids in the country.
Finally, the conclusions of the applicability and analysis of the treatment methods for this waste and the evaluation of the most used methods in the oil industry are taken into account, taking into account the environmental impact that each of them represents. | eng |
