Abstract
Las siguientes líneas describen los factores que desde el Sistema Interamericano de protección de Derechos Humanos, han promovido en el continente americano la tutela efectiva del respeto y garantía del derecho al voto de los miembros de la Fuerza Pública, demostrando así que la gran parte del continente cumple los estándares internacionales en materia de protección de derechos políticos, advirtiendo por supuesto, que en Colombia aún este paso no se ha dado a pesar de contar con las condiciones óptimas tanto en lo jurídico como en lo social, lo político y lo cultural.
The following lines describe the factors that from the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights, have promoted in the American continent the effective protection of the respect and guarantee of the right to vote of members of the Public Force, demonstrating that the great part of the continent It complies with international standards regarding the protection of political rights, noting, of course, that in Colombia this step has not yet taken place despite having optimal conditions in both legal and social, political and cultural aspects.
