las competencias del Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET);
Due to the need to update the economic and administrative area of the Civil Engineering program at the New Granada Military University, the design of a guide is made
standard based on the model Conceive, Design, Implement and Operate (CDIO) developed by the Technological Institute of Massashusetts (MIT) of the United States, to support and innovate the teaching-learning process in the area, in the students and
also in the accreditation of engineering programs.
The process that was developed was: Study, investigate and document previous processes of implementation of the CDIO methodology in different areas of knowledge in Colombia and the world, specifically its foundations; take as a point of reference the educational project of the Civil Engineering program (PEPIC) which was built according to
the competences of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); investigate about the CDIO methodology, specifically the 12 standards and the Syllabus
(Learning results: Knowing how to be, collaborating and doing), based on the above, a comparative methodology was developed by association
involving the ABET methodology
in front of the CDIO methodology, thus generating a series of matrices and relational tables that showed similarities and differences between the different models and
determine some of the shortcomings in the economic-administrative area of the program.
Having defined the supplies
Afterwards, and reviewed the methodology presented by Azasu and Gibler (2016) in which the CDIO and learning outcomes are taken into account; common theme in the CDIO and ABET, it is decided to take this model to propose a methodological guide in an application of matrix form to facilitate the teacher to update the programmatic contents of his subject and therefore the economic administrative area of the Civil Engineering program of the UMNG; in this way you can also
generate new content and modify the existing one according to the results of learning in the dimensions of knowing, being, collaborating and doing.
