dc.descriptionBetween 1890 and 1910 the international society experienced a radical transformation. It was a transition period characterized by the contradictions and the rivalries among the industrialized countries, with projections almost pregivers over the Afro-Asian and the Pacific societies, who were dominated by the colonial violence, and also over Latin America, were it was like a renewed theater of the European power competition and the rising domination of the United States of America in the economical and cultural aspects. Just about every debate that inspired the XX Century, in every field of the institutional, social, and scientific life arose over those years, also the systematization of the main problems that now days still oppress the human kind. A hundred years later the post cold war experience a similar confliction and uncertainly, living an intense transition, characterized by the feeling of revolutionary times. We found a historical structure that adjust and express in different ways, according to the develop of their material conditions and needs, but that still preserves the instabilities, fragilities and violence, conditions inherent to their historical nature. We get to know the results of those tensions in 1914-1918 and we fear for the ones that will follow the tensions of our days.en-US
dc.descriptionEntre 1890 y 1910, la sociedad internacional experimentó una transformación radical. Fue un período de transición que se caracterizó por rivalidades y contradicciones entre las sociedades industrializadas, con depredadoras proyecciones sobre las sociedades afroasiáticas y del Pacífico, a las cuales sometió a la violencia colonial, y sobre América Latina, teatro renovado de competencias entre los poderes europeos y el naciente dominio de Estados Unidos, tanto en lo económico como en lo cultural. La mayoría de los debates que inspiraron el siglo XX, en todos los campos de la vida institucional, social y científica surgió durante estos años, así como se sistematizaron las principales problemáticas que siguen agobiando a la humanidad. Cien años despu és, la sociedad de la posguerra fría experimenta una conflictividad e incertidumbre similares y vive una transición intensa y caracterizada por la sensación de vivir tiempos revolucionarios. Encontramos una estructura histórica que se ajusta y expresa, de forma diferente, según el desarrollo de sus condiciones materiales y necesidades, pero que conserva las condiciones de inestabilidad, fragilidad y violencia de entonces, inherentes a su naturaleza histórica. Conocimos el resultado de aquellas tensiones en 1914, y tememos por el que seguirá a lo que vivimos en nuestros días.es-ES
