extra-hospitalario a realizar.
Animals that share the different Colombian ecosystems with humans have special
abilities that serve as a defense mechanism, to get a partner or get food, such as
the different toxins in bites, stings or even on their skin, as is the case of the different
insects, snakes and some marine animals or the strong jaw that cats and dogs
contain, for example; an unfriendly encounter with some of these animals can
represent serious and very varied consequences on the health of people, who have
to face and treat the most dangerous clinical manifestations that are immediately
life-threatening are the different professionals prehospital, therefore require
extensive knowledge from the identification of these animals to the treatments or life
support measures necessary for each case. However, some limitations, such as the
lack of clear information on cases or treatments, lead to empirical measures that
may well work or, in the worst case, aggravate the situation of the patients; That is
why a thorough literature review is carried out where different dangerous species
typical in Colombia meet, showing the importance of knowing how to identify their
characteristics, expected injuries, possible complications and out-of-hospital
treatment to be performed.
