Anaerobic digestion (AD) is an extensive technology applied to wastewater treatment where, in the absence of oxygen, organic matter is stabilized by generating biogas, which can be reused as fuel. Within anaerobic technology there are anaerobic biodegradability tests which seek to obtain the maximum methane production capacity from both a group of microorganisms and from the substrate, achieving performance and operation improvements in anaerobic biodigesters. The complex application of these tests means that they are often omitted especially in Colombia and Latin America. The lack of data and methodologies for the different biodegradability tests makes the analysis and comparison of data increasingly difficult. In this work, the specific methanogenic activity applied to a sample of granular sludge from the anaerobic biodigester of a non-alcoholic beverages factory was evaluated, adapting the 3-day rapid application method. Two experiments of the SMA test were carried out, obtaining values of 0.014 and 0.015 g COD / gSTV, thus expanding the database for SMA tests under different conditions.spa
