Abstract
Currently, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the main goals within the UN 2030 Agenda have established an institutional framework that has led public, private companies, foundations, non-profit organizations, artists and society in They are generally committed to the social, cultural, economic, political, and population issues that plague societies across the globe.
The objective of the report is to present the importance of civil engineering in the fulfillment of SDG No. 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure with the use of a qualitative-descriptive investigation with which the antecedents of sustainable infrastructure, its regulations and the impact of civil engineering on compliance with SDG No. 9. With the development of research, it is concluded that it is imperative that both public policies and the commitment of nations are a fact and that the goals are established within the framework visional for the mitigation of the environmental impact that has been increasing in the last 100 years. For this reason, the mechanisms of improvement, renovation and innovation of civil infrastructure works have been implemented in the construction and environmental sustainability regulations, and in turn have been able to adapt to these SDGs by offering alternatives for the implementation of construction materials, reuse of rainwater, use of renewable energy, among others.
