Abstract
comercial.
In recent years, China's role in the international system has changed and it is focusing on expansionism around the world, due to its economic growth and its much more active participation in the world. Currently, the most ambitious plan that the Chinese government is advancing is the Belt and Road initiative, a project with which China seeks to establish a path of connections between Asia, Africa and Europe through innovation, in order to generate commercial exchanges, goods and services, among other strategies; the foregoing, through the creation of ports, rail lines and highways in much of the world. China has fostered these relations by displacing the importance of the United States as a partner of various states in Asia, especially in the economic sphere. In this sense, the Asian giant seeks to be the leading power in the commercial field and to become a strategic partner of the countries of the region that are part of the economic belt of the Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road of the 21st century. In addition to this, China has the advantage of having a geostrategic position that allows it to be much closer to Asia, Africa and Europe by land, sea and air.
The purpose of this essay is to analyze China's economic growth and its relationship with the Belt and Road Initiative as a foreign policy strategy and whether it intends to alter the international economic and political order led by the United States or it is simply part of an economic or commercial strategy.
