The following work aims to analyze the seismic vulnerability and the structural response for the construction of a second level in a house located in the city of Bogotá which was built before the implementation of the NSR-10 earthquake resistant construction standard, proposing An alternative intervention if the structure requires it, for this purpose the work will be divided into two stages, field work and office, during the field work information on the property will be collected, topographic and architectural surveys will be carried out, soil studies will be carried out. Structural and non-structural elements will be identified, their pathological situation will be defined by recovering samples of the structure and soil, and laboratory tests will be carried out in order to know the physical and mechanical characteristics of the recovered materials.
With the information collected in the field will carry out in the office the vulnerability diagnosis of the existing structure and the reinforcement design and type of intervention will be carried out to comply with NSR-10, taking into account the addition of the second level. It is intended that this methodology can be replicated in buildings with similar characteristics, which have been built in vulnerable sectors and without taking into account the NSR-10 standards.
