Abstract
Introducción: La psoriasis es una enfermedad inflamatoria crónica de la piel que genera un grave impacto sobre la calidad de vida . No se cuenta con información a nivel local respecto a ansiedad y depresión en pacientes diagnosticados con psoriasis en el Hospital Militar Central.
Objetivo: describir la frecuencia de posible depresión y ansiedad en la población de la clínica de psoriasis del servicio de dermatología del hospital militar central y determinar su relación con diferentes factores clínicos, terapéuticos y sociodemográficos.
Métodos: Se realizo un estudio de corte transversal observacional descriptivo en 33 pacientes mayores de 18 años con diagnóstico de psoriasis a la clínica de psoriasis del Hospital Militar Central. Se aplico un cuestionario a cada paciente con la Escala de evaluación ansiedad y depresión hospitalaria HADS.
Resultados: Un 27%(n=9) de los pacientes presentaron un valor indicativo (>12) de sintomatología relevante y posible trastorno ansiedad y depresión en la escala HADS. La edad promedio de los pacientes con alteración en la escala HADS fue de 46.4 años. La media de puntaje HADS generalmente fue mas alta en mujeres que en hombres y su vez mas alta en pacientes solteros que casados.
Conclusión: La probabilidad de sintomatología relevante para ansiedad y depresión según la escala HADS, en los 33 pacientes evaluados con diagnóstico de psoriasis del Hospital Militar Central fue de un 27 %. Se requiere un mayor numero de pacientes para determinar relaciones estadísticamente significativas entre las variables y la posibilidad de depresión y ansiedad mediante la escala HADS
Introduction: Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin that has a serious impact on quality of life . There is no local information regarding anxiety and depression in patients diagnosed with psoriasis at the Central Military Hospital.
Objective: to describe the frequency of possible depression and anxiety in the population of the psoriasis clinic of the dermatology service of the central military hospital and to determine its relationship with different clinical, therapeutic and sociodemographic factors.
Methods: A descriptive observational cross-sectional study was carried out in 33 patients older than 18 years with a diagnosis of psoriasis at the psoriasis clinic of the Central Military Hospital. A questionnaire was applied to each patient with the HADS Hospital Anxiety and Depression Assessment Scale.
Results: 27% (n = 9) of the patients presented an indicative value (> 12) of relevant symptoms and possible anxiety and depression disorder on the HADS scale. The average age of the patients with an alteration in the HADS scale was 46.4 years. The mean HADS score was generally higher in women than in men and higher in single patients than in married patients.
Conclusion: The probability of relevant symptoms for anxiety and depression according to the HADS scale, in 33 patients evaluated with a diagnosis of psoriasis at the Central Military Hospital was 27%. A greater number of patients is required to determine statistically significant relationships between the variables and the possibility of depression and anxiety using the HADS scale.
