Telehealth is undoubtedly one of the milestones of innovation in health; it constitutes a fundamental tool for reducing social gaps by increasing the coverage of health services, which reduces inequity in access and opens a window to quality in health for all the actors in the system, insurers and providers. In the same way, the introduction of information and communication technologies, let us see the asymmetry between rural and urban areas and the possibilities of those digital natives, with respect to people who do not have access to this type of technologies. Telehealth in pediatrics is an opportunity for the provision of services in remote locations; it is a tool for the physician in decision making and in the creation of disease prediction models; but it is also a challenge to ensure that those who are part of this model of care are trained in communication and information technologies, which fractionate patient care and do not wear down the already deteriorated patient-physician relationship. Thus, with giant potential to generate value and guarantee quality, but with significant barriers to adoption, which require multisectoral and multidisciplinary work involving health education, digital training and commitment from the public and private sectors.spa
