de la primera encuesta se obtienen los puntos clave para abordar en la solución del problema;
The current life of most people is fast paced, where in a single day they go through several places
in order to fulfill their obligations or satisfy some of their needs; In order to lead such an active
life, it is necessary to travel by different means, for which the person must leave their area and
move to where they need it. Since not all people are in the same circumstances, it is easier for some
to mobilize than others, as some may have problems in their lower extremities, problems that may
be chronic or temporary, but which also arise in their daily life. , in such a way that transporting
becomes something routine in something very uncomfortable for people with limited mobility. For
this reason, for the development of this article, the population with limited mobility who use an
orthopedic device with axillary support, better known as crutches, was taken as a reference. With
this information, two surveys are initially implemented, the first survey to understand how the user
experience of people who use crutches has been and extract important information from the VOC,
with the analysis of the first survey the key points are obtained to address the solution of the
problem; While the second survey yields the data of what critical quality characteristics they would
expect to see in the redesigned crutches, therefore, the use of the Quality House (QFD) is made to
identify the ranking of the quality characteristics that are estimated. In addition, in design, the
House of Quality allows a small comparison with the competition, so that what they are doing and
how they are doing it is analyzed, with respect to the functionality of the crutches.
With the identification of the importance of the CTQ, the redesign of the crutches begins under
the Lean design methodology, where the first iteration is initially considered as the product without
modification, to later submit it to analysis of what is going to be modified and how it will be
modified, with this several iterations are deployed, one after another the progress of the new design
is evidenced, in such a way that in each iteration it is determined what will be done in the next one
and why, thus giving various analyzes of sizes, weights , shape and other technical aspects of
4
design that are considered to make a quality product; This leads to the final iteration which will be
the completed redesign of the crutches.
The final iteration allows the analysis of materials and components that are required in the
production of the new design of crutches, in such a way that these data are taken for the financial
analysis that determines the feasibility of the project. This analysis is represented by the income
statement, which is made up of the interaction of various costs and benefits of the project;
Therefore, a forecast of the possible users of crutches is initially made in a planning horizon of
four years, for this a market share is estimated within the horizon and various costs are estimated,
to finally obtain the Net Income.
