This article seeks to present the current situation of the rural area of the town of Suba in terms of the potential, problems and dynamics of development that this area presents and that generate impacts on the natural environment and the scope of the sustainable development of the zone.
Through documentary review and field visits, it is possible to analyze the development in the rural area of Suba and rethink the concept of sustainability associated with it. It is based on an approach oriented to epistemological knowledge of the conception of development understood and adopted by the actors participating in the different processes suffered in the studied area and from this issue concepts that involve the knowledge-knowledge relationship, without violating the customs of the inhabitants of the zone, but that allows to direct the processes and the activities towards a sustainable development that benefits the society, the environment, and the economy of the place.Local sustainable development is understood then, as a process that involves multiple objectives on the part of the participating actors, and that for the case of the Suba rural territory, requires special attention and interdisciplinarity, having inhabitants with urban, rural and floating characteristics, that sustain their life dynamics on said territory.
From this, the importance of promoting local development initiatives through the strengthening of local governments and the territorial design of sustainable productive development policies is highlighted.
