Abstract
En Europa a finales del siglo XIX y a nivel mundial hacia los años 60 se desarrollan las primeras unidades didácticas en las que aparecen los ambientes virtuales de aprendizaje (AVA)los cuales han venido transformando la modalidad de educación presencial a virtual, pues el docente, ahora tutor y orientador del proceso requiere nuevas estrategias y capacidades de planeación, organización y capacitación mientras que el alumno desarrolla habilidades intelectuales como la elaboración de juicios de valor, creatividad, capacidad reflexiva, resolución de conflictos, habilidades comunicativas, aprendizaje autónomo y colaborativo trayendo como resultado ventajas en su implementación como la optimización de procesos académicos con mayor cobertura, fortalecimiento de las relaciones sociales, dinamismo y flexibilidad pero al mismo tiempo algunas limitaciones como analfabetismo informático, falta de garantía en el éxito del aprendizaje significativo y algunas otras que quedan como interrogante y motivo de revisión pues se hace necesario poder establecer cuál ha sido el impacto de los ambientes virtuales como herramienta tecnológica en la educación superior en Iberoamérica.
In Europe at the end of the 19th century and at the world level towards the 60s, the first teaching units were developed, with the first virtual learning environments which have been transforming the way people are educated in a virtual way since the teacher now tutor and guide the process It requires new strategies and capacities of planning, organization and training while the student develops intellectual skills such as the elaboration of value judgments, creativity, reflective capacity, conflict resolution, communication skills, autonomous and collaborative learning, resulting in advantages in its implementation as the optimization of academic processes with greater coverage, strengthening of social relations, dynamism and flexibility but at the same time some limitations such as computer illiteracy, lack of guarantee in the success of significant learning and some others that remain as a question and a reason for revision because it is necessary to establish what has been the impact of virtual environments as a technological tool in higher education in Ibero-America.
