Resumen
El presente trabajo pretende analizar e identificar las diferentes variables que influyeron a nivel fiscal y tributario sobre el impacto causado por la eliminación de la renta exenta hotelera en Colombia; ya que existieron ciertos incentivos tributarios brindados por el Estado Colombiano a un grupo selecto de diferentes operadores, empresarios e inversores del sector turístico- hotelero, con el propósito de generar confianza en el arribo de turistas, incentivar la inversión extranjera en hotelería y turismo y la generación de empleos directos e indirectos relacionados con dicha actividad. Para el caso puntual, en cuanto a la exención del impuesto de renta para personas jurídicas y naturales que construyeran o remodelaran hoteles por un periodo de casi 15 años a partir del año 2002 hasta el año 2017, dicho beneficio refería a que estarían exentos del 100% del impuesto de renta por 30 años a partir del inicio de operaciones que soportaran el desarrollo de actividades turísticas. Por lo que se pretende dar respuesta a ¿Cuál ha sido el impacto por mitigar o eliminar los beneficios fiscales tributarios al sector hotelero en Colombia, con la creación y aplicación de la reforma tributaria Ley 1819 de 2016?
Para el presente trabajo se utilizaron fuentes del Dane, Dian, Ministerio de Hacienda y Crédito Público, revistas y periódicos con textos especializados, informes y datos de cierres oficiales.
