Abstract
Los seguros se vienen posicionando en el mercado a nivel mundial de tal forma que representan un porcentaje importante dentro del PIB de cualquier país, sin embargo, en Colombia esta actividad pese a que ha venido obteniendo fuerza y abarcando un mercado cada vez mayor, aún se encuentra con índices muy bajos de participación en la economía. Siendo Colombia un mercado tan variado, tiene muchas deficiencias en la oferta de estos productos debido a la falta de confianza en el mercado asegurador, falta de oferta en los productos de seguros, o tal vez deficiencia en la economía del país, factores que han influenciado el lento crecimiento de los seguros.
En América Latina, países como Chile la actividad aseguradora representa el 4% del PIB, y en Colombia para el año 2016 era del 2.2%, lo que evidencia la poca participación de este mercado, por eso consideramos importante ahondar en el crecimiento, trayectoria a través de los años e identificar la relevancia que tienen el mercado de los seguros en la economía y en Colombia.
Insurance has been positioning in the world market in such a way that they represent an important percentage in the GDP of any country, however, in Colombia this activity although it has been gaining strength and covering a growing market, is still It finds very low rates of participation in the economy. Colombia being such a diverse market, it has many shortcomings in the supply of these products due to lack of confidence in the insurance market, lack of supply in insurance products, or perhaps deficiency in the country's economy, factors that have influenced the slow growth of insurance.
In Latin America, countries such as Chile have insurance activity representing 4% of GDP, and in Colombia for 2016 it was 2.2%, which evidences the low participation of this market, which is why we consider it important to deepen growth, trajectory to over the years and identify the relevance of the insurance market in the economy and in Colombia.
