Abstract
Organizations currently seek to have the best human capital; reliable and responsible people who help keep the business and also constantly contribute to its growth. For this reason, since ancient times, there has been a need to create an efficient and effective method that could determine the likelihood of deceit that an individual incurred in providing information about him and his aspirations in a system. With quite rustic methods, the leaders of various cultures managed to impose themselves and instill fear so that their slaves or workers respected their governments and had no chance to deceive or commit fraud. The present project seeks to describe the evolution of the scientific instrument that allows detecting lies, analyzing the possible results that it produces to issue a judgment on a pre-employment personnel selection process. At the same time it is important to understand the new needs of organizations and how they influence the development of a good personnel safety study including the application of the polygraphic test. Human beings cannot remain in the assumption of the occurrence of an event where only true or missing information is obtained, but also must give way to technological tools that help improve processes, perhaps not with effectiveness of one hundred percent certainty, but with the highest probability of determining a hoax.
