The importance of internal control in a health entity is paramount, since senior management relies on the improvement processes evidenced in internal and external audits; This department is in charge of applying and searching for the necessary strategies to provide an efficient, effective and optimal service for the patient.
Knowing this, the need arises to inquire about the follow-up carried out by the internal control and the administration of the health entity regarding the improvement plans, but specifically those findings that are repetitive in each of the annual audit schedules.
For this reason, two findings from Hospital H are taken as exploration, which have been proposed annually and without specifying any optimal solution for the entity. This process takes approximately the first 22 years and the second discovery 10 years.
When reviewing the information issued by the health entity, and looking for reported information, there is no document justifying why these findings have existed for so long and no solution has yet been specified for Hospital H.
For this reason, it is recommended that internal control really verify each of the activities proposed within the annual improvement plan. After this, if it does not achieve efficiency in this finding, seek the necessary strategy to achieve it; it is vital that the hospital achieve full efficiency in its improvement plan.
