The municipalities with high environmental density and dense forest cover, have a vital importance in the stability of the ecosystems of Colombia, they have undergone great transformations due to the conflicts generated in their territory, and the bad soil generated in recent years. This work deals with the multitemporal change of the dense forest in the municipality of El Carmen Norte de Santander, taking into account its geographical relevance with the Catatumbo Bari natural park and its evolution from 2010 to 2020; analyzing the relevance of the post-conflict in the environmental evolution of the region. For this, satellite images from three different years (2010, 2015 and 2020) will be used; with processing methods such as supervised classification to measure the amount of forest changed, and the normalized vegetation index (NDVI) to evaluate the quality of vegetation in this time period..
