Resumen
Históricamente Serbia y en general los Balcanes, han sido un corredor estratégico, entre Europa y Asia; por esto la región fue escenario de diferentes intervenciones, que conllevaron a la configuración de diversas identidades (principalmente religiosas) y formas de gobierno. Por tal razón, la creación y construcción del Estado serbio es diferente con respecto a Europa occidental.
La construcción de Estado-nación en el caso serbio durante el siglo XX y XXI, ha estado en constante cambio. Esta construcción se puede explicar a través de dos teorías principalmente: la primera, es la planteada por Charles Tilly, debido a que éste argumenta que los Estados se crean a partir del ejercicio de la guerra y la segunda teoría es la propuesta por Alexander Wendt, donde el punto central es la identidad
Historically Serbia and the Balkans in general, have been a strategic corridor between Europe and Asia; therefore the region was the scenario of different interventions, that led to the creation of several identities (mainly religious) and government forms. Because of this, the creation and construction of the Serbian state in comparison with to Western Europe.
The nation-state creation in the Serbian case during the twentieth and twenty-first century has been constantly changing. This creation can be explained by exposing two theories: the first one proposed by Charles Tilly, it argues that states are created by the exercise of war; the second one is proposed by Alexander Wendt, it affirms that the central point of a state creation is the identity.
